Twitter of Faith

I’m trying to write my Statement of Faith today for my examination before Presbytery in two weeks. While asking some advice on Twitter, Shawn Coons came up with a nice little challenge called “Twitter of Faith.” While fitting everything you believe is hard enough to do on one page, what if you only had 140 characters to do so? So, if you’re on Twitter (if you want to know why you should try Twitter, read this), please participate in this. This was the initial challenge:

Twitter of Faith: What do you believe? You have 140 characters – give us your statement of faith in 140 characters. #TOF

In order for us to be able to keep track of them, please add the hash tag #TOF to it, and then you can keep up with the results here. If you want to track both the hash tag #TOF and the phrase “Twitter of Faith” – this is a great way to view the results.

Please post about this on your blog (with a link back to this post here), feel free to use the above image as well, and Twitter about it or put it on your Facebook. While some have suggested that this is in fact a sneaky plot to help me with my Statement of Faith – it could be interpreted in a cool social experiment in sharing your faith with the Twitter world.

Not a twit, I mean twitter. I don’t even update my Facebook status each week. (I’m twice the age of the average Twitter type. But the challenge to state my faith in less than 140 characters seemed interesting. Here’s 139 characters I’d post if I twittered…

Repent, believe Jesus is Lord and Savior – seek Him. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Now Love! #TOF
