Entering my Late-Mid-Twenties
April 13, 2007
Today I turn 27. So, take a break today, have a drink, and celebrate me.
Sarah and I have had numerous conversations about this, and I still maintain that I have not entered my late-twenties. I like to call them my late-mid-twenties; makes sense, right? I like to think so. I won’t be able to party with Sarah tonight though - I’m on my way down to Richmond for the Presbyterian Seminary Frisbee Tournament today (unfortunately, it looks like rain again for Saturday).
I’ve had some great birthdays in the past few years. The two most notable were my 2 birthdays at Princeton Theological Seminary. The first was the somewhat scandalous God/ess Party, where everyone was encouraged to come dressed as their favorite pagan deity. It got a little crazy…photos here.
Then last year there was the combination of alcohol and youth group games. Another fun evening.
So, here’s to my 27th year. And just in case you’re feeling loving today, you might want to check this out.

Gelukkige Verjaarsdag Adam!
What a privilege - I get to spend 10 hours of your birthday with you in a car driving to Richmond! No alcohol and youth group games until we arrive, mind you.

Happy Birthday, I picked you up from Twitter.

Happy B-day Adam! As someone who is quickly approaching the big 3-0 (gasp), I definitely side with you on where you’re at in the 20s. 20-23 is early twenties, 24-27 is mid-twenties, 28-to 29 and 364 days is late twenties ;-)
Enjoy your day!

Happy Birthday old man ….

Happy Birthday!
Personally, I was eager to turn thirty because I really didn’t want to be in my twenties anymore. Because that lumped me in the same category with the 21-23 crowd that were just so much younger and immature than I was.

happy birthday dude. i was telling anna. once you get on the back half of 25 . . . it’s all downhill.
on a side note . . . i’ve $25 on the over/under of the whack-o-slice-o crew gets a hold of the god/ess pics and makes a post.
i’ll take the under on 24 hours.

I’m on the tail end of 27 currently, and I’d definitely have to say that it’s just as easily early-late twenties. ;)

2 Corinthians 5:16-17
“So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

Happy Birthday man.
After 25, why count anymore? I’m 28 and dread the day I hit 30. I have a feeling I will have a few mid-life crisis’.

Happy Birthday from the snowy north!

had the same conversation when I turned 27. my math teacher brother told me with certainty that i could be in my “mid-twenties” until I was 27 1/2, then I would be in my “late twenties.” now I’m 29 and just want to hang on in the twenties!

Oh trust me….the 30’s are waaayyy better than the 20’s.
I know you’re a man Adam, but its even more true for women. Many of the double-standards that are applied to women start to wean away in the 30’s (though, God knows, they are still very strong).
