    I’ll go with #17.

As a side note, I knew about this blog via your tweet, before my RSS feed picked it up. So, if you’re still balancing the pro’s and con’s of Tweeter, maybe that’s a pro?

#13. Less pretentious, yet not obnoxious. By the way…nice to see you on twitter. Although I did have to temper my reaction to Lost to ensure not giving the ending away to you! (i’m just jealous you have tivo, that’s all).

  8. Todd says:

    #17

  9. steven good says:

I made one almost identical to #8 but decided not to submit it. My vote goes to #8.

  10. Brandon says:

    #8 and maybe a cross between #18 and #19.

  11. Number 5. Definitely Number 5
    .

  12. jim says:

#8 fits my image of princeton, but I think PTS should be a bit more daring so I vote for #14

  13. Andrew Walker says:

    #8

  14. #8

I’m a big fan of one-color logos. The chi-rho/PTS logo is clever, but not as straightforward as the seal.

  15. kyledawn says:

    #17

  16. melissa says:

    8….and 11…and 17…

    I’m indecisive.

  17. Josh says:

    Umm…

    #23.

  18. Patrick says:

    #5. Truth in advertising.

  19. Mike in the Box says:

    17

  20. Rebecca says:

    #17

  21. Emily says:

I like #19 best, but #17 is a good variation.

  22. David Berge says:

13 is killer, by far the best, though 8 is classic. I would substitue the blue and red seal for the black and white.

  23. Gareth says:

    #5 all the way!

  24. Andrea says:

Of course I like #5 (since PTS is the CTS of the north), but my real vote is for #17.

  25. Eric says:

I think #5 is the best.

  26. JennySmith says:

#19, followed by #8 as a close second.

  27. Nathan H says:

I like #8, but think it would be even better if the seal on the left were replaced by the logo at the center of #6.

  28. Emily says:

    #17

  29. Marissa says:

    #5

  30. Dan Morehead says:

  31. Abi says:

  32. Lyndsay Slocum says:

    need to be real… #5

  33. Sarah says:

    #5

    obviously.

  34. wb says:

    I go with #17,

The first few remind me of all the FCA logos about “God’s Power Squad” and such.

Though, as as jaded senior, #13-15 are a funny claim about the focus on books over Christ (no cross in the logo?)

    Impressive work overall.

  35. Jeff says:

I think #5 does a great job of capturing PTS’s true identity and place in life. Well done and bravo to the brilliant designer of that awe-inspiring work of art!

  36. Kendall says:

    #5

  37. elizabeth says:

    obviously #5 is the best.
#7 looks like a wine label.

and you are the CTS of the north…

  38. Tully Fletcher says:

number 5 is clearly the best

  39. Shawn Blanc says:

    # 6 stands out to me the most. I like it a lot. But if I was on the PTS board I would probably pick #17.

  40. casey says:

    #5 — the people’s choice!

  41. Kim says:

Yeah, so definitely in favor of #5

  42. Shawn says:

    #14

  43. Karen says:

    #5

  44. libby says:

    definitely 5, definitely!

  45. CC says:

    #8

  46. #14

  47. Nathan says:

16,17,18,19,21,22 are all VERY good. They capture a bit of progressive, while still being faithful to the professionalism of the seminary.

If I had to just pick one, it would have to be #18, but there’s no reason not to have variations for things that require less space and use one of those circle logos. They’re great!

  48. Kellen says:

    #8

  49. Danny from CTS says:

    #8 hands down

  50. Zach Walker a.k.a. "Zamby" says:

I think that all of these are quite silly, except for number eight. So I vote for 8.

  51. bobbie says:

    i think they’d go with #8, but i personally like #14

  52. Claire says:

You know my vote has to be for #5

  53. Nicky J as in Van Santen says:

    Yeah, 8 is HOT.

    I go w/8.

  54. Janice says:

For me it’s a tough call between 6, 8, 19, 20, and 21. But in the end, I like the classic, monochromatic look, so 8 is my vote.

  55. dkt says:

    #9 is SEXY

  56. Makeesha says:

speaking as a graphic designer and not familiar with PTS I would go with Nathan on this one but I’d pick 19 if I had to pick just one.. 17 and 19 would go well together – - different sizes and orientations for different usages.

I actually really like 14 just from a creative, web 2.0 perspective – - maybe with slightly more subdued colors it would speak more to the PTS image.

  57. shawn says:

Yeah, so whoever designed the first four should be shot. Those SUCK. Number 8 is easily the most enduring design worthy of the name “logo.” All the rest are computer peoples’ cartooned-out wetdreams.

    8

  58. Brian says:

    #17

  59. josh says:

i’m glad none of them look like these . . .

    http://static.flickr.com/14/93136022_25afa7e458_o.jpg

i mean who would want a logo in the same vein as the most creative people who are designing all the 2.0 identities.

but i agree. whoever did 16-22 is very professional. and is more in the spirit of a classic university like princeton.

  60. Muphinsmom says:

    #17

  61. Vince K. says:

    8

  62. Brian says:

Well, I really am impressed with them all … but #5 has stolen my heart

  63. Eric says:

    #13

  64. Mark Smith says:

I vote for #20. Nice and clean.

  65. Peppy says:

    #13…

  66. corey says:

#16 for use on various signs throughout the campus and #17 for polo shirts (logo in upper left hand corner). Colors need to stay simple so that in 10 years from now desgin can still be used without looking like it was designed in 2007. Needs to be timeless, simple, and easily marketable.

  67. Chris says:

    I like #8

  68. Matt Heerema says:

    1-4 – ack.

    5 – ??

    6 – would be a great T-shirt

    7 – no, too busy

8 – is pretty conservative. nice and solid

    9 – …

    10 – waaay too busy

    11 – umm…

    12 – hmm…

    13 – PTS 2.0

    14 & 15 – almost…

combine 16 and 17 and it’s pretty strong

18-20 – they don’t look quite finished, but are definitely in the right direction

21-22 – i like where these are headed. they’d probably get my vote

  69. Johannes Silentio says:

    EIGHT

  70. Lauren says:

    #21

  71. tim says:

i like #17. #8 might be the most classy, but maybe also a bit snooty?

  72. Andy says:

    I like #19, with #17 as a variation.

  73. Glen says:

Let’s journey toward a more open and progressive theology … and rename the school while we’re at it.
    # 12
    Smile.

  74. Robyn says:

I like the first 3, preferably number one. Many of the others, especially 8 are old school and boring.

  75. Kelly says:

    # 17

  76. jason says:

I really like 14, and not because it was done by my brother-in-law Josh. When I look at it I think “Wow! The Killers need to get him to do the design for their next cd.”

  77. JPatch says:

16 …. maybe. things that look good on letterheads don’t look good on t-shirts and vice versa. where are we puttin this thing?

  78. You can put it anywhere you want Jessica…

  79. Seth Thomas says:

    #19

  80. Adam Copeland says:

    5

  81. Andy says:

#5! Now if only they could get the weather of CTS in Princeton on top of the academics!

  82. JP Manzi says:

    #6

    close 2nd…..#8.

  83. Kristen W says:

None of them make me ecstatic, but #20 is my vote.

  84. Marci Auld Glass says:

While #5 clearly captures the reality of the situation the best, I suspect that Princeton might be too far into the forest to see those trees….so I would vote for 17.
1-4 are right out. And the ones with only books and no cross make me a little sad.
Nice selection of creative ideas. Huzzah!

  85. M says:

    #17. Classic.

  86. monts says:

    #13

  87. josh says:

    all i’m saying is wtf?

no crosses? why would someone design a logo without a cross. that’s ridiculous.

i mean the cross as symbol of suffering and pain makes a great ornament and piece of jewelry. i definitely think it should be in a logo. it works so much better as a commodity that way.

sorry for being snarky adam. it is what it is.

  88. Horatio says:

I think #8 is a pretty easy winner. That’s my vote.

  89. Bill says:

I just noticed that Tony Jones voted for #8. Weird! Why would Tony want old school? I am tempted to go with #17 (or 20), but I think 8 is slightly better – 8 it is.

  90. JEFF BRYAN says:

    I vote for #8, ’cause I think it’ll win.
    But my heart’s with #9.

  91. Andy Acton says:

    #5 for sure

  92. renee says:

    #17

  93. #14

  94. traci says:

    #8, because it’s the best.
but 17 – end are well done, too.

  95. Troy HB says:

#17 is probably best update that stays relatively true to the reputation of the seminary, although I have to say I love the look of #14. Wish we were that hip around here.

  96. anna says:

    14. For Sure 14.

  97. James says:

As a member of the class of ’87, I have to say that #8 is the only one that comes close to the ethos of the Seminary. Some of the others are simply pandering to design fads. In theology as well as design, sometimes the best things are the classic things…

  105. numero 14. big time. its clean, fresh, clear and arrestingly simple.

  106. Robin says:

    Clearly #5.

  107. Dave says:

The acceptance rate at CTS between 2002-2006 of completed applications was 86-92%.

The acceptance rate at PTS between those periods – roughly 25%.

    Clearly #5.

  108. Keith says:

    #8

  109. Matt Wiebe says:

I actually don’t really love any of these. But, if I have to pick one, I’ll go with:

    #20

  110. William Stacy Johnson says:

    #8

  111. Iain Torrance says:

What’s with this bizarre CTS inferiority complex? Who the hell cares?

  112. Oh. I almost forgot to vote. I vote for #2.

  113. David Berge says:

13 and 15 are clearly Miller Chapel.

  114. David Berge says:

The above comment was in response’s to wb’s comment that 13-15 represent PTS’s commitment to books over Christ.

  115. verec says:

Most of the rest are terrible.

  116. Phil Brown says:

  117. McLaughlin says:

    clearly #5

  118. dan says:

    #21

  119. Victor says:

    8 is best.

  120. Armen says:

lol…I can’t believe some of these are worse than mine – we better not give up our day jobs for logo design anyway.

I have recently discovered that a logo must work in black and white as well as with colour, therefore I go with 17.

If someone had entered a Princeton Theological Cemetery logo, that would have got my vote! Joke. ;)

  121. djchuang says:

I vote for #14 (disclosure: I had some help from my graphic designer associate.)

  122. Evan says:

Ok, so I just looked over all these comments, and #5 – holy inferiority complex Batman.

9 out of 10 that finish their applications get into Columbia, but only 1 out of 4 who do the same at Princeton do – wow.

Personally, I liked the logo we had before our current one, which emphasized “theological” over “Princeton.” Of these, I imagine #20 is the best.

  123. molly hughes says:

  124. Bridget says:

None of the above! Something new inspired by the birthday blog:

Youth Ministry Games + Beer = Princeton Theological Seminary

  125. Bob Lee says:

  126. Kate says:

It’s too late to vote, but I liked #14

  127. #13
