Chapel Service Video
December 15, 2007
This is the video for the Chapel Service. In this video, there is some great cello music in the beginning, the call to worship from a Shel Silverstein poem (3:07) and one of my favorite hymns, Canticle of the Turning (3:38). But if you’d like to skip to the sermon itself, you can find it [...]

October 18, 2007
I know some professors who read this blog quite often, and I’ve even been told by President Iain Torrance, that he reads it from time to time. I also know that some staff/administrators at Princeton Seminary haven’t been the biggest fans of my blog from time to time. So, I find it quite amusing that [...]

September 19, 2007
Classes start today - for returning Princeton Seminary students and the new MDivs, MAs, ThMs and PhDs (pictured above). It was interesting to go through the orientation/convocation festivities last night as a student spouse - instead of when I did these same activities, 3 years ago. The conversation at dinner with Wentzel van Huyssteen was [...]

The First Day of School
February 5, 2007
Today is the first day of school for the spring semester. Sarah made our lunches for us, since both of us are going to be up on campus from 11am to 6pm on Mondays. As our class started, and the professor started taking Roll, I got all ready for my name to be called. And [...]

I know Jonny thinks it’s funny when people podcast their sermons (and I’m sure others do too), but…oh well. I am preaching again today, on Gen 32 (Jacob wrestling with God). The sermon is called The Divine Screw-Job (to see why, you’ll have to check out the footnote in the PDF): you can read the [...]

September 21, 2005
They are working us this year to become preachers. We have an 8am plenary for quite of a few weeks, then a 1-2hr precept where we preach, and we also have a 5-7 week Preaching Workshop where we preach and get critiqued on delivery, body-language, enunciation, etc. I think they’re actually trying to get us [...]

April 12, 2005
Last weekend, I was down at the 2005 Presbyterian Seminary Ultimate Frisbee Weekend Tournament, held at Union Seminary in Richmond, VA. Ultimate frisbee teams from Princeton, Columbia, Pittsburgh, Louisville and Union showed up to play the tournament. It was the perfect frisbee weekend, despite predicted thunderstorms, and the tournament was put together very well. Union’s [...]

I spent a few hours last night in my room watching ALIAS episodes (after my trip to Atlanta, I’m thoroughly addicted to them!) and chatting. While I was thoroughly enjoying myself, a few friends came to make sure I participated in the Dance Dance Reformation party a few floors up in 4th Alex. This is [...]
