This is All Saints Cathedral in Zamalek, the island across the Nile from downtown Cairo, and the church where I met Henrik, the Dutch pastor who is here doing a Ph.D. on interfaith dialogue between Muslims and Christians. The church is very active, hosting a clinic and is very involved with a Sudanese Refugee program. [...]

My mom wanted to know what my room looked like. I am staying at the Ramses College for Girls; Sarah just laughed when I told her that. But it’s where all the PC(USA) and Lutheran Young Adult Volunteers live, and they were kind enough to put me up for free, so I have been very [...]

So, my stomach is still doing very good. And since I have an 8+ hour busride tomorrow to St. Katherine’s Monastery, I decided to play it safe and eat something I knew would be okay, instead of a shewarma that turned out to be sketchy…

Adam on a camel (that was for you Andrew, just in case you missed what it was). So, this day was interesting. First, I took the metro down to Giza, and met a nice young man, Philemon on the way. He was a Christian and talked with me the whole way to my stop. Then [...]

[Full-resolution photo here. I should probably use this space to thank my parents for letting me borrow their brand new (they had barely even taken it out of the box) Canon PowerShot A520 camera so I could take photos like the one above]
[I realize this is technically my 5th post for today, but I figure [...]
