As we prepare to enter into this Holy Week…a week that is filled with darkness, I was just reminded of the restorative power of light this morning. Caleb got me up earlier than I would have liked – but it allowed me the chance to capture this moment, the sun breaking through and bathing us both with its warm…almost a reminder that it is here to restore us.
Sometimes being alone is not necessarily about being by yourself, without others around…sometimes you can be close to others, but it can feel like you’re just on the outside, looking in…
This was given to us at our wedding, and it’s one of my favorite decorative pieces that we have. Whenever we’ve moved, it’s been one of the few things I’ve gotten excited about hanging up on the front of our house. Granted, it wouldn’t be the best thing if we ever decided to move to England (WC = the water closet), but I love coming home and seeing that this is in fact our home. The Walker Cleaveland home. Even if we’re just renting now…and sometimes feels like we’ll be renting forever…it’s nice to know that it is home.
