When I was at the Everything Must Change Tour, I got the chance to speak with Samir Selmanovic. I’ve run across Samir’s writings before, as he has a chapter in An Emergent Manifesto of Hope entitled “The Sweet Problem of Inclusiveness: Finding Our God in the Other.” He’s also currently working on a book for [...]

We had a few folks from the Princeton cohort who went up for the weekend, and I think everyone really enjoyed themselves. It was a great 2-day event, and there [...]

So I honestly thought we’d probably play one game (maybe two…) and then we’d be out. But that was far from what happened.

I’ve recently run across a great new podcast that I’ve been enjoying, produced and hosted by Presbyterian minister, Landon Whitsitt. It’s called The Phoenix Journal, and over the past few weeks, they’ve hosted some great interviews with folks like Eric Elnes, Carrie Newcomer, Bruce Reyes-Chow and this week Fritz Gutwein is interviewed. It’s a great [...]

UPDATE: Book giveaway. I have 4 copies of “The New Christians” to send to the first four people who email me with a picture of Tony’s footwear of choice while he’s on the road.
Prior to reading The New Christians, I have always told everyone that Pete Rollins’s How (Not) to Speak of God has been [...]

February 27, 2008
I’ve been thinking about pluralism in the context of ministry for the past few days because of an interview question I received from a church in the Bay area. These are some of my thoughts on what it means (or should mean) to do ministry in such a diverse area as the San Francisco/Bay area. [...]
