Theology Pub Discussion Sheets

It’s been almost two years since we started up our Theology Pub in Livermore. It’s been a good experience, and one of the things that I look forward to every month. It was initially setup to become an opportunity for young adults to come together in a non-church setting and have conversations about God & theology. That’s not really what it’s become, but that’s okay. The group is different every week, but it’s always a diverse group. Lots of Methodists from Asbury UMC show up, but also Presbyterians, folks from Congregation Beth Emek (Jewish synagogue), some self-professed atheists and others.

One More Half Marathon Down…So What’s Next?

One more race down today. I ran the Western Pacific Half Marathon today, a great event put on by Brazen Racing. Last year I ran the American River Parkway Half Marathon and got a 10:00 pace. I was very happy with that pace because I was able to run the entire thing, and it was great for my first race. Today I was shooting for something between 9:20-9:30, and that was about right. I ended up with a 9:28 pace and almost a full 7 minutes off my time from last year.

The race went pretty well although I think I may have started off a bit too fast. Right around mile 8, my stomach started gurgling a bit and I thought I was going to have to find a bathroom quick, but I was able to run through it and it went away. I also found that around mile 11, the adrenaline really kicked in – which was helpful naturally. I ended up getting 8th out of 19 in my age bracket (30-34) and with a time of 2:04:05.

What Your Writing Reveals

Someone tweeted about Typealyzer the other day – a website that is supposed to be able to decipher your Myers-Briggs personality type by the writing on your blog. You can’t really ever trust what these types of sites really claim to be able to do, but I thought I’d give it a try. I know that I am an INFJ on the Myers-Briggs scale, and so I wanted to see how close it would get. First, I tried this site, Pomomusings. And it gave me an ESTP. This was the description:

New #RunRevRun Community Blog is LIVE

One week ago, I saw a few #runrevrun tweets and thought there might be some energy around a #runrevrun community blog, so I asked folks if they were interested.

One week later, we are launching our #RunRevRun website, #RunRevRun Facebook page and our @Run_Rev_Run Twitter account. We have 18 authors, over 20 posts and more and more folks are starting to follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook. I’d say there was definitely some interest and energy for a community blog on health, fitness and ministry. We have a great group of almost 20 authors who are going to be writing for this site, and you can read their bios on the Authors page.

It’s going to be a great site, I can tell already, and so I encourage you to check it out, sign up to receive the blog updates, check us out on Facebook and Twitter and join the #runrevrun conversation as we attempt to get keep – or get – fit.
