Adam,
Your sentiment about loving to receive those long emails and meaningful phone calls is one of the biggest reasons I've stayed off Facebook, Twitter, and the like. I guess I'm old-fashioned in a way, but I'd much rather hear from my friends by phone once a week, than getting sentence long updates all day long. Though many of my friends (eh-em, Kendall) would rather I catch up with the technology evolution!

You're making me feel old. But then I am. I may belong to the last generation who wrote letters, put them in an envelope with a stamp, sent it off, and waited (sometimes weeks, no kidding, if someone was overseas or something) for a reply.
Guess I'll put that onion on my belt now.

It's true Steve. My bad. Google Wave really will be changing a TON of stuff...moving so much more to real-time connections and conversations...it should be exciting.

Though I don't know if I'm ready to leave my Apple Mail Inbox and all my beautifully-organized folders to move back to web-based mail/messaging. We'll see though. Google Wave is pretty damn hot.

It is interesting to see how email has evolved from the AOL days, as you say, to the way we experience email today. But a whole post about "email evolving" without a single mention of Google Wave?! Email as we know it is evolving yet again. Our kids will only know "messages" or ... (ahem) ... "waves":
