Whiffle Ball, Haikus and BBQ

Date April 15, 2008

I had a wonderful birthday party yesterday - started out with whiffle ball, a great game! I didn’t do so bad if I do say so myself, hitting at least two home runs, I think. We played whiffle ball for awhile, then started up the grills, hung out with lots of friends, and had a birthday haiku reading as well. There were some very creative haikus written, and I’ll post them below. I had a friend taking photos - and they turned out really well (his name is Joel Bock - you should check out his stuff). You can check out the photos from my birthday party here. The haikus are below.

And finally, a collection of 5 haikus collection entitled “On the occasion of Adam’s twenty-eighth birthday, we pause to consider his qualities, his virtues, his household, and overall merits.” This collection was composed by Nate Van Yperen and Elaine James.

    Bro,
happy birthday. I usually try to call or at least send a birthday email to my family and best friends… but i got to admit.. i just forgot.
    I feel pretty lame.
    Anyway, happy birthday.

I still think it sucks that you’re coming back to the west coast when i finally left. And now i will have NOT visited you when you were in Idaho and NOT visited you in princeton. I guess your skepticism was correct. I feel even more lame.

    God Bless bro.
