While I’m having a hell of a time finding a job/call for the next few years, I have at least one job for a week in June. I’ll be attending the Presbyterian Church (USA)’s General Assembly in San Jose. I’ve been hired by The Presbyterian Outlook (which should be launching their new website in the next few months) to be the official blogger at GA. This will be the first GA I’ve ever been to, and so I think it should be interesting, blogging as a recently-graduated seminarian about the ins-and-outs of the PCUSA General Assembly. I’ll have press credentials and the whole deal, so it should be fun. Let me know if you’re going to be at GA and we can try and connect. I’ll be hanging out with presbymergent folks as well. I’ll be arriving Friday, June 20th, and I’ll hopefully get to catch the Chuch Basement Roadshow in San Jose that night with Doug, Tony and Mark. See you at GA ‘08.

That’s pretty cool Adam. I know I would be interested to follow your blogging from the GA so make sure to let us know that url when it’s up!

Great! see you there. I hope I can catch the road show too; that sounds really cool.

Any thoughts about putting together a presbymergent party? I’ve been meaning to look at the schedule and see what looks like a good time to try to put something together.

Adam, I’ve been reading your blog for a while now, as I’ve been getting more and more into all things emergent. I’ll be at GA this summer, for the entire time, and I’d love to meet you and talk about presbymergent. I’ll be looking forward to the GA blog as well. This will be my first GA and I’m pretty sure that I’ll either come away more engaged in Presbyterianism or more cynical than I already am.

Congrats Adam! A little known fact is that Jack Haberer married Carol and I. Carol was also Jack’s janitor for a while. What a long strange trip it has been. I am trying to decide whether I am going to the GA. I am afraid that would make me too Presbyterian and ruin my image. I would love to return to San Fran and visit my Catholic worker friend. If I do go I will try to look you up.
