Procrastinating
December 19, 2007
So I was sitting here in the computer lab, trying to work on one of my two papers due on Friday. I was having an issue with Gmail in the Apple Mail program, so I went to the Gmail settings online and clicked Enable POP For Mail, but I actually clicked “Enable POP Mail for All Mail (even Mail that’s already been downloaded).” So, before I realized what I did, emails from January 1, 2006 started piling in to my Inbox. As you can see, the final result was 16,954 emails I had to go through and delete.
So much for following the advice of my Desktop Wallpaper: “Do your work. Don’t be stupid.” Blogging will be slow until some finals are done.

DOOD! You do know that Gmail supports IMAP now right? You gotta switch over from POP…

Boy, do I miss Finals @ Christmas!!!
Adam, no matter how rough Christmas gets as a Pastor, I do not believe it could EVER be as rough as Christmas @ Princeton, studying, reading, writing & stressing about final exams and papers. I promise you, it is SO much better on this side of the line!

You aren’t using the IMAP feature for your GMAIL account in Mail.app? tsk tsk.

HA! This is hilarious because I just posted on a really similar topic (only I went the IMAP route. Not to beat a dead horse, but why DID you use POP?). Gotta love Leopard though!

God, that’s happened to me before. Except I only had about 4 thousand emails download. (Apple A + Delete)

That same thing happened to me, too! I tried following Lifehacker’s instructions on backing up your primary Google account and the deluge began. I must have screwed something up.
