Having an affair can be a tricky thing - you have to be careful about what you say, what receipts you keep or throw away. So, an online affair seems like it would be easier, right? Oh my gosh.
I am personally reeling from a friend (born-again athiest; before she was just agnostic) who is having a (real) affair with her neighbor who heads up a major Christian organization. She called me b/c I’m “a Christian and would know what to do.” She is in love with this guy. He is not going to leave his wife and kids. This has nothing to do with your article, but I’m a little shaken.
One of the weird things about being a pastor/a pastor in Washington - when you hear things about people who are sometimes in the news and you can’t talk about it. I find myself absorbing it all and walking around like I’ve overdosed on something. Ugh.
