In just a few days, classes at Princeton Seminary will start up again, and so I’m trying to enjoy the last few days of freedom until it all begins. I’ve been doing some webdesign, but also doing something else equally important: fixing up all my archives. When I deleted the old Typepad blog, I lost the links to all the photos I ever uploaded, and there were some strange text-formatting issues that I had never gone back and fixed. So, slowly – my archived entries are starting to look right again. It’s going to be a slow process – I’m trying to take one month each day. So, that’s taking a fair amount of my blogging energy. I did want you to know about two videos however and a new ‘internet series.’
- GodMen: Bob sent me the link to the ABC News story about GodMen online. GodMen is a Driscoll-esque “movement” spearheaded by Christian comedian Brad Stine, who I’ve seen before at YS events I think. One of the main speakers they had at their most recent gathering was Paul Coughlin, author of “No More Christian Nice Guy.” At their gatherings, they watch sports bloopers, discuss issues like homosexuality, masturbation and addiction to pornography and learn about how to be “real” men (apparently that means “GodMen” – though it’s a very unnerving name for the movement).
Check out the video here and learn more about GodMen here. - Yoga is Not for Christians: At least that’s what John MacArthur said during a Headline News interview. But he didn’t stand a chance, as he was pitted against debater extraordinaire Doug Pagitt. It’s really worth watching. The only thing that John MacArthur communicated and showed was just how much he does not get it.
Video here - Quarterlife: A friend sent this link to me – apparently some TV producers were ticked at ABC and have now taken this show to the web. It will be debuting on MySpace November 11 and then on the website, Quarterlife on November 12th. The show is about a group of twenty-somethings and at least one of them is an avid blogger. Now this is my type of show. Keep your eyes out for it.
