Who are you? Pt. IV

in Technology

I’m always interested to learn more about the readers of this blog – so I’m going to do the fourth “Who are you?” post I’ve done on this blog (previous posts done on 8/20/04, 1/17/05 and 1/17/06. Since I just hit over the 400 mark with Feedburner, I thought I’d do another post and see who y’all are. If you read this on a newsreader, please just stop by for a minute and briefly answer these questions:

Name:
Age:
Profession:
Location:
Why do you read this blog?
Where do you most often read this blog? (e.g. work, office, school, home, while cooking)
If you could change something about this site – what would you change?

I read this because I like your ideas and I like knowing about the life behind the ideas. And I’m a sucker for any emerging church blog just about anywhere
I read this either first thing at work or late at night with my laptop on my knee, because with a massive time-difference that’s usually when the posts come through

Oh, and I don’t know that I would change much: I’d just like to have enough time to comment more often.

I like to read the thoughts of some of my more progressive Christian brothers and sisters. I am far from my legalistic and fundamentalist roots and appreciate people who challenge me.

I most often read the blog at home, when I should probably be doing something else.

I like the interactive postings (What is…theology, church, sin), although I haven’t contributed to them. I think a podcast every couple months or so would be nice as well.

I read this blog because I’m enjoying what you write about religion and life in general, and I’m enjoying the sitcom/soap opera/drama that is your life. Who says that all of the interesting good-looking people are on TV?

If I could change something about the site, I’d use a slightly bigger font and maybe a different color scheme. It’s a little hard to read the gray on brown due to glare on my monitor from a nearby window – just a personal thing.

I read at work primarily, sometimes from home.

Why do you read this blog?: Thought provoking, fun and just personal enough.
Where do you most often read this blog? (e.g. work, office, school, home, while cooking): Home, every morning
If you could change something about this site – what would you change?: Not much. I find it hard on the eyes to read white text on dark background. Not a biggie.

I read the blog because I find myself fitting in somewhere in the progressive, emerging conversation so I appreciate your thoughts and ideas. I’m a friend of Wess Daniel’s and I think I found you through his blog.

I usually read the blog at home, sometimes at work if things are slow.

And I don’t know what I would change – it’s pretty great the way it is!

What I would change: It isn’t my site, and I am libertarian enough to allow people to run their sites in their own ways. Besides, I like this one just the way it is.

Why read? Because I came across it via a link on Rebecca Jordan Heys’ blog…we’ve known each other since elementary school. We attended the same church/school/college and our parents are good friends. I am also involved in youth ministry and like to stay fresh on what’s relevant in the emergent mindset…and you’re my age so it makes it very pallatable.
Most often read: at my work late at night or at home
One thing I would change: I love pictures…there’s always room for more pictures!

Why do you read this blog?: I am intrigued by the emergent discussion, especially because it is not afraid to ask questions, even of topics that have always been presented to me in my tradition as settled and, therefore, taboo. My own CPE experience opened my eyes to a wider perspective than I had grown up with, and your blog keeps me in tune with part of the current of God’s work that I don’t usually tread into.
Where do you most often read this blog? (e.g. work, office, school, home, while cooking): work, though I live next door in a parsonage, so it’s hard to distinguish.

I heard about this blog on a blogsite I’m involved with epinoiacafe.com. I saw the question “What is Church?” and got hooked. I like the questions and people’s comments. That’s why I play here. I like to hear other people’s ideas of God, Church and the importance of Jesus Christ. I like the tone of this site. No one is trying to convince you of their opinion…just giving you something to think about….Isn’t that what Church is supposed to be?

Adam, I came across your blog via the Calvin Crest blog website. It is very interesting for me to read your thoughts on the Presbymergent church. The past 6 years I went through an intense soul-searching spiritual quest. Explored a lot (LOT!) of stuff, especially Orthodoxy, but ended up falling in love with Jesus in the Eucharist and joined the Catholic Church this last Easter. It is beautiful to me, in reading your blog, to see the similarities between the Sacraments of the Catholic Church and this progressive worship, with its emphasis on involving the senses. There is something there! Keep posting, brother.

Why do you read this blog? I started reading your blog almost two years ago when I first moved to Atlanta to study Global Health at Emory. I came across it online while reading up on postmoderism, theology, and the emergent dialogue. I continue to read it because I am encouraged by your theological perspectives that engage contemporary issues of our world. When I noticed that you would be moving down to the Decatur area, I always wondered if I would happen to see you, but it never happened…I totally would have been one of those people who comes up to you and says, “Hey you don’t know me, but I read you blog!”
