Two Freebies for (mt) Media Temple Users

When I first signed up with (mt) Media Temple, one of the things I was most excited about was putting their logo on my site. But I had a hard time finding the logo. Some hosts have buttons easily accessible for you to put on your sites, but I wasn’t having any luck finding the Media Temple logo. A friend of mine, after signing up with Media Temple, asked a customer support person and they said they didn’t know where he could find them either.

So, Freebie #1: the (mt) Media Temple logo file (.eps format).

Something else I wanted to figure out was how to get some good referral bonuses or something. Dreamhost offers some pretty killer referrals rewards, and I wanted to figure out what my options were from Media Temple. If you search for information on referrals on the Media Temple site, they actually say they don’t offer any rewards programs of any kind (”Since 1998 our company’s success has come from providing a great product and great service; not slick ads, referral payoffs and ultra low pricing.”). The same friend of mine asked customer support about it, and they said “We don’t do referrals.” However, then I ran across a post on this blog, in which he had a referral link for Media Temple. You need to code your link like this:

http://mediatemple.net/go/order/?refdom=yourdomain.com

So, for example, my link in the footer of this site is:

http://mediatemple.net/go/order/?refdom=cleavedesign.com

This inserts your Media Temple Account domain into the order form of someone who is signing up for Media Temple. Again, according to the guy who runs the above site (and not Media Temple):

When they click on your link, it simply pre-populates the referral form during
the sign up process with your website. The reward you get is the cost of one months hosting after the signed up customer pays their first bill.

Alternatively, you can simply ask people to place your domain name in the referral spot during sign up and you will get the same reward.
