Officespace

What does your office space/desk look like? I thought it was time to share what my desk at the illustrious SBL looked like, so here it is. Now…it’s your turn. Share your office space with us. Post an entry, do a trackback, leave a comment with your link, tag it appropriately (Office Space, Desk) and let’s share the world our wonderful (or not) office spaces, cubicles and desks!

And we should indeed turn it into a meme {HT Ben}. I’d love to hear from:

Let’s see that office or desk!

The minister of my home church gave me a lovely crystal cross as an ordination present, because she is “certain that I will have an office to put it in someday.”

I just hope I don’t have to pawn the cross to pay my student loans before that day comes.

Not an ordination present, but a graduation present. I got up too early this morning.

Ok I have 1 image up and another coming. The image up at the moment is my office from home. I will be posting my other office up soon. The link is http://ben.categoryfive.org/2006/10/thy-royal-throne.html

Are you going to the SBL Congress in DC?

Adam 10.16.06 at 1:21 pm

I was actually going to post about that in November - but yes, I will be there. Sarah and I will both be working for SBL at the Meeting.

I had to post the first thing that came to my mind when you wanted a picture of my office space and desk, which you REALLY don’t want to see. Check out the desk of my dreams here which I drew up this morning just for a joke. Thus spoke churchpundit!

This is my desk. I love it a lot.

Actually, this misrepresents matters, since in the year and half since I moved into this office, it has filled up with more books and papers, and now I’m resuming double-shelving books and stacking papers on any available level surface.

I did it, dude. Just for you. Find it here.

Nice idea. Here is my Home Office.

As I have no digital camera..

I’m with the aforementioned horizontal arranging method. The key is not so much the desk which is always cluttered with junk as I have no drawers or really any furniture to speak of for that matter..so the desk becomes a great level surface that attracts pretty much everything…

The key is the semi-circle on the floor around the desk and chair. It is here that I oh so intentionally organize class notes, articles for papers and of course papers I get back in wonderful stacks. This forms a nice circle of study..

But..for the first time ever, I bought some file folders over the weekend. I have no file cabinet but its a start..

OK, I’ll add mine. But don’t be intimated by this sheer display of executive power.

This is my office in Rio de Janeiro; I work in a poor community (a favela) and my apartment/office is very simple. (No air conditioning, no hot water, but I’ve got cable and hi speed internet.) Also, I’m two blocks from the ocean and never far from a samba party, so I don’t complain.

Here’s the office.

I work for the NASA Idaho Space grant Consortium (isgc.uidaho.edu)

I, suprisingly, have a very large desk in a large, quiet (with exception to a fax machine) office, which I share with one other person, another U of I student who works there.

It’s a very nice office. I have a nice desk and computer, and I get along with the girl that I share my office with. The only complaint is that my office has no windows, and the heater in the office is insanely hot, so our office is often too hot, but other than that, I can’t complain. After all, who wouldn’t like a desk job where all you do is write about science and do advertising in an office with friendly co workers where you can walk around barefoot and noboday cares?
