McLaren, Emergent and pomomusings in the Washington Post

Date September 10, 2006

I realize some of you may be coming to this blog for the first time because of a link in the Washington Post article entitled "Evangelical Author Puts Progressive Spin on Traditional Faith." I haven’t read the article yet (I’m just posting briefly at the Boise Airport as my wife and I fly home from our recent vacation). However, I skimmed it enough to find this paragraph:

"Emerging church" is a loose network of mostly young evangelicals who
believe the Christian message needs to be made more relevant in a time
of rapid technological and societal change, particularly to those
who’ve never been part of any church. Participants refer to their
interaction as a "conversation," much of which takes place on the
Internet at sites such as http://www.emergentvillage.com and blogs such as pomomusings.com.

I feel flattered to have been included in the article. Since it’s the summer right now, you may find my blog a little "thin" on the Emergent conversation side of things. But I hope you’ll check out some of the categories on the left like Emergent, Theology, Progressive Spirituality and Progressive Theology.

Also, please keep in mind that Emergent is a fairly diverse network of people, so if you read my blog and find some stuff that you take offense too (theologically, or otherwise), do remember that while I am a member of the Emergent Coordinating Group, I do not ‘officially’ speak for Emergent, and these are my own personal views. Anyway - welcome to pomomusings if this is your first time.
