Last night and the drive away…
May 6, 2006
Last night, I spent the evening with some good friends, some friends I know I’ll see again, but perhaps I won’t. Some friends who will be at Princeton next year and then gone when Sarah and I return after this year at Columbia. It was a good time, and you can see more photos here.
A few of us had dinner at Macaroni Grill and then a large group ended up hanging out at The Triumph Brewery in downtown Princeton. It was a good time. I do have some fun friends, and they will be missed next year as I’m in Atlanta.
I’m not exactly sure how to feel today as I drive home to be with Sarah. I’m totally excited to end the long-distance relationship we’ve dealt with this year, I’m totally excited to get to marry the one I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with. At the same time, there are a group of friends who have another year together at Princeton and will go through all the events of graduation, etc., next year, and I’ll miss out on some of that. But there will still be some friends around when Sarah and I return, and that will be exciting to get to pick up where we left off.
At any rate, I am SO GLAD that this long-distance relationship is ending and Sarah and I will finally be together. Yes! I’m stopping tonight in Greensboro to stay with my buddy Andy and we’re gonna catch a minor league baseball game, and then I’ll be in Decatur by Sunday. Sarah and I will be there for 2 weeks, then it’s up to Rochester for wedding preparations and then the wedding on May 28th. My mailing address is now changed to Decatur, so in case anyone was considering sending a house-warming gift or something, here is my new mailing address:

Once you leave anything (home, school, a city), it’s never again the same.
