pomomusings is “Relevant” After All…

I had the privilege of writing an article for Relevant Magazine (online version). I was asked to write something for the church section. The article is called The Church that Doesn’t Exist, and can be found here.

It’s my first time being published like this, so it’s interesting to
see what phrases from the original get edited out ("radically diverse
theological beliefs on everything from the creation of the world, to
atonement theories to sexual orientations") and vocab that gets added
in (twentysomething). I do want to add two Disclaimers to the
article; 1) Sarah pointed out that one sentence makes it sound like I
think Sarah actually has bad taste in music - this is far from the
truth; I was simply trying to pick one aspect that people might relate
to, but I actually really love Sarah’s style in music. 2) After
submitting the article, I saw that Joshua Harris (I Kissed Dating
Goodbye author) has a new book out called "Stop Dating the Church." Huh. I just wrote something that has a similar theme as something Joshua Harris wrote. Hmm. Not sure what to say about that…
