Anniversary Gifts from the Christian Bookstores

Date March 10, 2006

So, after a journey into another world, I was finally able to find an anniversary gift for Sarah - and likewise, she had apparently found me one that I couldn’t live without. I know some of you have been wanting to know what we both found; well, I’d say we both did pretty good.

I was able to find some windchimes. Sarah loves windchimes and so I thought it was a good gift. The top has a bit of a crusader’s-helmet-look to it, but…it’s okay. Here is a video of them in action. I was also able to find a beautiful CLERGY bumper sticker, as well as those wonderful Christian name cards. As you can see, I’m the first of men from a broad river, and Sarah is a pure, princess.

Sarah was able to find The Christian Handbook, which is hilarious. Kind of a Worst-Case-Scenario Handbook for Christians, as well as a beautifully-illustrated children’s book, Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden by Jane Ray. It’s really a wonderful book.

I’d say we both did pretty well for shopping for gifts under $30 at Christian bookstores.

Well done, Christian shopper. Did you know there is a Presbyterian Handbook out there too? Might be good for anniversary numero dos. :)

i would have guessed that the top of the windchime is from the helmet of a spanish conquistador or a bishop.

Shouldn’t that book be Adam and Sarah in the Garden of Eden?

Sorry if this veers off topic, but I glanced back at your post containing the pictures from the Christian bookstore. I found it interesting that the only two things you considered credible were books dealing with doubt and hardship with God. I understand that it is very important to acknowledge this struggle, but my point is that the good, positive and uplifting things are also valid and have their place. Just a thought.
