Who did YOU go to school with?
January 11, 2005

My freshman year at Whitworth, we had this CRAZY guy on our hall who was a close friend to all of us. Ryan Keberle. An absolutely amazing trombonist, and he took off to the Manhattan School of Music. Well, I knew he was damn good so I just typed in Ryan Keberle and found him, and he’s still in New York. So I’m gonna see if I can get ahold of him and catch a gig in the city or something sometime…here’s his website and here is a nice write-up…I listened to some of his stuff online…still damn good!
So, who did YOU go to school with?

I went to high school with Richard Seymour, current lineman for the New England Patriots and owner of two Super Bowl Rings. I thought he was good in high school but not that good! Richard also played basketball to keep in shape during the off-season and I always thought he was quite uncoordinated….yeah, so my judgment is sometimes a bit off…

a. High School: Megan Hilty. Currently the understudy for one of the leads (Glinda) in THE Broadway musical of 2003/2004 — Wicked.
If you haven’t seen it. See it.
b. College: Adam B. Cleaveland. Currently the proprietor of http://www.adamcleaveland.com . The guy was a little bit odd, but he seems to be doing alright now.
c. Seminary: Dean C. Kladder. Ghetto superstar.

I went to high school with Craig Chaquico … this dates me :-) as he was a member of the Jefferson Starship back in the olden days.

Adam, I went to school (Whitworth) with YOU.

I went to college with Wierd Al Yankovic. Well - he was there at the same time that I was anyway! One night a bunch of us were wandering around campus having one of those dorky “we’re young Christians, and we don’t party heavy, so we’re gonna wander around and act wierd” kinda evenings… We all had on crazy hats from my friend’s collection, and my friend took us down to the radio station where Wierd Al was DJing, and we crowded into the booth with him and sang the Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood song with him on the air…
I think this dates me, too.
