Bill Robinson @ PTS

Date October 10, 2004

Whitworth College is the #1 feeder school for PTS. This is a fun/good thing, and…well, yah. Whitworth students definitely get put into a box (and there is a reason behind it) and many of them get labeled as being the very conservative Evangelicals, and people just assume stuff about you if you are from Whitworth. So, I guess I’m really trying to break out of that Whitworth box…to show that the stereotype doesn’t hold true for all. There are things about Whitworth that annoy/bother me. There are things that Whitworth wants to do that I don’t think should happen. But…while there is a bit of a tension there, I still love Bill Robinson, the current President of Whitworth. I think he’s a phenomenal guy, with a great personality. And he just loves and cares for Whitworth students. He honestly knows every student. Just tonight, Dr. Moffett (Professor Emeritus of Ecumenics here at PTS) mentioned he had a grand-daughter, or great-grand-daughter, and Bill knew her, knew where she did an internship this summer, etc. And this is not unusual. So tonight we (the Whitworth “Mafia”) had a reception with Bill at Dr. Guder’s home. It was a fun evening - fun to hear a bit about Whitworth and things that are happening. Fun times…

That man really is a blessing. I was lucky enough to take the 1 and only class that he’s taught at Whitworth. Quite an unique opprotunity. Just to hear his wisdom about life and his experiences as a leader and a man of God.

Hope his wisdom carries you well.
