Chinese food in a cute little box…

Date August 30, 2004

My friend Jen picked me up from the airport yesterday after getting back from Fresno and we went to Chinese food (that’s me holding our leftovers in a cute little box, sporting one of the couple new shirts I bought a few days ago…I love it!) in Vancouver. I really love Jen…she’s great. We had some great revealing (I’d say…) conversation (which tends to happen when one person is a Psych. major…Jen was) and it was just a really refreshing time with her, eating lunch, throwing the f-bomb around a bit and having fun. She’s making me stop by again on my way to Idaho on Friday to pick up the David Sedaris Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim boxed CD set to listen to while I travel to Princeton. I’m WAY excited for that. I like friends like Jen. I’m blessed to have her as a friend. And she has recently seen the benefits and joys of the blog-world, so she’ll be a regular reader - in fact, we may even get her to post a comment sometime. We’ll see…

The Sedaris CD set is great, but I should warn you–if you have read his New Yorker pieces the last few years, and listened to This American Life with regularity, then you have probably heard most of these. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get it, though. It’s worth having for posterity. I was just a little disappointed that there wasn’t much new here.

I’m in the Jen-of-Vancouver Fan Club too!
    She is the best.

Sedaris is my current bedtime reading — I’m enjoying him.

I keep Sedaris close by at all times. He is my antecdote to all the silly seriousness that happens in church. Loved “Dress Your Family…”, although I read it. Blessings at Princeton, and let us know if you need any help.
