I hate the summer!
July 25, 2004
Okay, I don’t really hate the summer. In fact, I very much like the summer (especially, right now, as his posts, because I’m floating down the Chehalis River with a friend). Except for one thing (that I can think of right now): my summer wardrobe sucks.
Girls get it easy. Skirts. Dresses. Sarongs. Various types of t-shirts…lots of option. Guys? What do we get? Shorts. T-shirts. Now, I do have a few cool plaid-western button-up short-sleeved shirts…but, other than that. I just realized this while I was folding my laundry right now. It’s pretty lame. I have 2 pairs of shorts I wear, and I really only like one of them. And then I really just alternate t-shirts. I love the fall and winter months, because my clothes for that temperature are way-cooler, and I think we as guys just have so many more options for cool clothing. Now…even as I write this - I’m not one who is really into name-brand-designer clothing anyway, and I absolutely hate going clothes-shopping…it’s horrible. But, of the clothes that I do have, my fall/winter wardrobe is so much cooler than my summer one, and I feel like a dork in the summer sometimes. I’ll probably get over it, as long as I’m wearing random t-shirts, I guess I’m okay…

You were right! Random shirts are the very best! Right when I got home from camp I ordered two of them. The first was the “We grow em’ big in… Delaware.” Another was the “Best Friends” Shirt. The last was the “Surf’s up! Aspen California. Too bad I havent gotten them yet. I’ve told all of my friends about random shirts! Your becoming a very good trend setter!

You are on the money here. I like summer because I’m not much for pants, but I do only like one or two pairs of shorts. If you walk through a mall there are only limited guys stores, most of them are only half of a store. The only guy stores are stores with suits (yuck) and big and tall stores (which I am neither). Girls get to wear cool stuff. Guys get nothing. Girls even come over to our side and wear our shirts. Nothing worse than finding that gem of a t-shirt only to go somewhere and a girl has on the same one.
