Everyone could use a little Britney…
April 23, 2004

I don’t know why I did it. It was my monthly CD-buying venture into Target. I couldn’t find any $6-$10 CDs that I wanted - and then I saw her. She was wooing me in a way, and I immediately thought, “Damn. Now *that* would be a funny blog entry. Adam buys a Britney CD.” So I did it. I played Toxic first and called Josh and he laughed at me. Every now and then I just need a CD like “In the Zone.” Two years ago it was Pink. Most recently it was Stacie Orrico. And now it’s Britney. I did it. My first Britney CD. It’s kind of fun -
I hope you come back to my blog though…
(I must say though….I don’t think her voice is really that horrible…I know I’m opening up a can of worms here…but…yah. Toxic is pretty catchy. Besides, I have a good friend who uses that song for the ringtone for his wife on his cell phone…yah…I guess that’s a little weird…)

Well, I suppose I must be the first to comment on this phenomenon. (By commenting am I affirming your purchase, as well as the fact that you actually listen to this CD?) And yes, there is such a thing as walking out of the store empty-handed. So there.

I can’t believe what I’m reading… you BOUGHT a Britney Spears CD????!!!! Not cool Adam… not cool. Yes, I agree 200% with April… there IS such a thing as walking out of a store empty handed!
And one of her songs is catchy huh? Isn’t that the point of pop?–”Lets make a stupid song catchy so that it haunts innocent people FOREVER!”
Lines like “Hit me baby one more time” still creep me out. I gotta stop ranting. I won’t get over this for awhile Adam.

So I just have to wonder about the guy with the Toxic ringtone for his wife.
“Yes dear, that’s the first word that springs to mind when you call me…”
So I wonder what she has for him…
Train Wreck - Sarah McLachlan?
Underappreciated-Christina Aguilera?
Bitch-Meredith Brooks?
The possibilities are endless ;-)

I think it’s only a matter of time before Britney runs over a photographer and kills ‘em. What happened to that sweet old Britney we used to know and love?
