I should mention that I am not in this photo – this is just an image I found on Google
I had my interview with Kendall Presbytery’s Committee on Preparation for Ministry (CPM) and as of February 24th, 2004, I am enrolled as an Inquirer. Interview today was good. They asked some questions about my choice to go to Princeton, what types of ministry I’d be excited about. I asked about financial aid and as to how much theological diversity they’d be comfortable with. We talked briefly about the Essential Tenets and Reformed Distinctives (which I ranted about before). It was good. Both last week, when my Session voted to recommend me to CPM, and this week, after they voted to enroll me as an Inquirer, the interview ended with the laying on of hands and prayers for me. Especially with my Session (who consists of elders in our church, many people I’ve gotten to know well over the past year and a half), it was a very moving experience. I’m beginning to see the benefits of such a covenant relationship between myself and the Presbytery’s CPM throughout the course of my theological education and development. I know there will be disagreements and frustrations, but I enjoy the fact that I’m being taken “under care” by this Presbytery; there are many people who love me and whom I love.
