.bE @ Whitworth | Vol 2

Date February 23, 2004

Some have been asking what .bE was like at Whitworth. We used the entire sanctuary of the Chapel [hopefully I will have some photos up soon in an album]. We incorporated some student art into one corner with the rest of the art stations. Brought in a few new stations (thanks to some of the resources in Jonny’s book, Alternative Worship). For the Taize music, we had cello, flute, oboe and guitar, which was beautiful. The “order” of the beginning part of the evening looked like this:

`call to worship
`welcome & introductory comments on .bE
`worship through prayer :: icon / silent prayer
`worship through prayer :: ignation prayer
`worship through song
-Light of the World
-The Wonderful Cross
-Bless the Lord My Soul
-Let Us Praise Your Name
`worship through scripture :: lectio divina
-Isaiah 43
`worship through communion :: jeannine michelle graham
`prayer stations

Just received a few more comments from those who had experienced .bE @ Whitworth. I will continue to put some more up as they come.

“That was so wonderful”
“Amazing”
“Can we start doing it every week?”
“How on earth have I never done anything that good before?”
“Lee, seriously, exactly what I needed; tell Adam thank you”

Hmm. Now the idea of taking .bE across the country to college campuses sounds pretty sweet. There is definitely hungry spirits…

I thought it was wonderful as did my friends that came along with me. We had a blast! Any plans for getting it to U of I at some point?

Is that “Ignition Prayer” or “Ignatian Prayer”?

I’d be interested in hearing more about this event. Do you guys use a band?

We’re planning to do an open contemplative pre-easter event, and I’m looking for ideas. Could you tell me more about it via email or comments? Thanks!
