Went to a Pastor Appreciation Luncheon last week at a Christian school in Twin Falls. A few of the kids from our church go to school there and invited my pastor and I. Although within the PC(USA) denomination I’m not officially a pastor, I got to be Pastor Adam for a few hours. It was fun. The kids at the table had fun with that: “Pastor, please pass the chips…” It’s funny. I’m going to seminary for 3-4 yrs, so that I can be officially recognized by the PC(USA) and others as a “real, genuine, official” pastor. Interesting.

I’m having some similar fun, right now. Will be serving in a pastoral role in a PC(USA) church. I’m already ordained through another denomination and have a “Rev” in front of my name. But, at this church, I won’t officially be a “pastor”. Director, equipper, leader… Anything but “pastor”.
I think it’s kind of funny.

if you are a person that shepherds that flock of students…often times you are more of a pastor to them than anyone else.
