Princeton Reflections
November 25, 2003

I went to Princeton, feeling that it could be the place for me. I left Princeton feeling sure of it. It was a combination of things; classes, friends, community, comfort, challenge, worship, God’s call, friends’ confirmations, and many other aspects I’m surely not aware of right now. My application should be complete in about a week, and if that is the case, I should hear from Princeton before Christmas.
I am excited about Princeton Theological Seminary for a number of reasons: [listed in no specific order]
`.bE & alt.worship::I talked with a middler [2nd yr student] who has been active in putting on the Labyrinth 1x/month at Princeton. We had a great conversation about some of what we’ve been doing out here in Idaho w/.bE, and so it is possible that .bE may head across country next fall and go to PTS. It will be fun to think about how that different type of worship will be able to impact the campus and give students a new experience with worship. It will also be exciting to try and work with Tony Jones, and getting the emergent discussion on campus.
`Community::There is amazing community at Princeton. From the variety of students organizations, to various student dorms - one is never left wondering what to do. The students [and prospectives in my seminar] I met were wonderful and I’m so excited to spend a few years with them at seminary.
`Academics::Just the chance to get back into the swing of things. Being a Whitworth Religion major, I may possibly be able to waive some of the intro courses, which I’ve heard is a huge blessing. I sat in on 3 campuses during my stay last week, and really enjoyed the discussions and lectures.
`See below entries entitled Drinkin’ in Jersey, and Drinkin’ in Jersey, Vol. II.
Anyway, God blessed me with a wonderful week there at Princeton. God spoke to me through others, and I could definitely see myself at Princeton for a few years. Now, we just wait…

Bro. Thanks for geing great. I’m glad you have the gift of blogging — I am sure that Jesus meant to put that in the Beatitudes — blessed are the bloggers, for they shall… hmm…what shall bloggers actually do, I wonder?
I’m excited about your PTSem opportunity. You know you will be accepted, full ride and everything. Really, bro. Perhaps we will be there together.
I’m done with you. Time for you to blog some more.

Cleave, get those pictures up bro. And, I just have to say, I am really excited for you. I am stoked that you are making some big decisions. One thing i’ve learned about myself recently, i shy away from big decisions…
I honestly have nothing against Idaho, but sometimes i get the impression that you aren’t able to explore your potential there. That is probably a terrible thing to say, who are we to determine our potential? Or worse, who am I to determine your potential… It just seems that you’ve been walking a tight rope when you should be able to run. I get the impression that it’s all you can do sometimes not to just blow up there and take over. :) I am glad you are going to Princeton. But I am glad you’ve left your mark in Idaho. Now i just have to make it over there before you leave to fulfill a promise. :) Love you cleave.

What makes you think that I want to see a photo journal of you, scantily clad women, your dinner, coffee, etc? I think that it might be worthwhile for you to do more than skim Be Intolerant, it seems that you have a bit more growth to be had in this area, this assumption is based solely off of the photos of your “travel.” Please take this as constructive criticism, not an attack on your character, just one sister trying to help out her brother in Christ.

Freedom of speech. Don’t even think about deleting it! I think you need a fresh voice into this “blog” of yours.
